There are three main parks in the San Marco area. Alexandria Oaks Park has a peaceful walking trail with lots of open space for activities like picnics and football or soccer games. It features many beautiful historic oaks and is the largest park in the area.

Landon Park is a San Marco park that caters to kids. There is a large play area with swings and climbing structures. Southside Park is the third park with a basketball court, picnic tables, playground, tennis courts, and community center.

There is also Riverfront Park which is a strip of grass overlooking the St Johns River. It's a great place to fish and watch the sunrise and set with spectacular views of the water.

There are many amazing restaurants in San Marco including Bistro AIX, the Maple Street Biscuit Company, and Taverna. Bistro AIX is a popular French restaurant with lunch, dinner, and happy hour specials.

The Maple Street Biscuit Company offers southern comfort food with a modern twist. Their biscuits are homemade and the coffee is always fresh. The restaurant offers breakfast and lunch.

Taverna is a landmark restaurant in San Marco featuring traditional Italian cuisine with Mediterranean influences. There is an excellent wine menu and handcrafted local brews, and reservations are welcomed.

There are many more restaurants to choose from including breakfast and brunch at the Southern Grounds & Co., lunch specials at the Florida Cracker Kitchen, and other local favorites like European Street Cafe and the Hightide Burrito Co.

San Marco Jacksonville Nightlife

If you are interested in a lot of the nightlife that San Marco has to offer, there are many options. Sidecar is a popular bar that is connected to V Pizza. They have an outdoor patio for enjoying your drink with a freshly made gourmet pizza.

Grape and Grain features a speakeasy hosting live music and events. There is also The Pink Salt Restaurant and The Wine Bar for Caribbean cuisine made with locally sourced ingredients. Specialties include their jerk chicken, gumbo, along with shrimp and grits. They also have a very good wine list, and you can catch happy hours between 4 and 7 pm.

For live music, Jack Rabbits is the place to go. It is an intimate live concert venue with a full bar. They host regional and national artists.

High performers in San Marco attend Douglas Anderson School of the Arts or the First Coast School of Music. In addition, there is a high school called Samuel W. Wolfson High School.
